In celebration of World Mental Health Day and Fountain House's partnership with the World Health Organization and Columbia University, we will host a three-part panel series, Longer, Healthier Lives: Fountain House Shines a Light on Early Mortality, to raise awareness about the epidemic of early mortality among people with serious mental illness.
The first panel in the series, The Connection Between Mental and Physical Health, will discuss dangerous health disparities experienced by people living with serious mental illness that lead to a life expectancy 10-25 year less than the general public. Attendees will learn about the important relationship between mental and physical health and how people with serious mental illness and their advocates can get better care. This event is free to the public.
Dr. Lloyd Sederer, MD - Medical Director, New York State Office of Mental Health
