Fountain House is open 365 days a year. In addition to the work-ordered day activities, Fountain House is open on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday evenings, as well as Sunday afternoons for holidays and social programs. This gives members who may be working or in school ample opportunity to stop in and maintain their connections with Fountain House and their friends.
The Evening and Weekend Program offers many activities - planned and coordinated by members, staff and volunteers - through which members can interact and explore a variety of interests. They can enjoy classes and groups devoted to photography, computer training, poetry and creative writing, cooking, book reviews, and improving their English and math skills. They can take part in dance parties, music class, and holiday-themed programs.

Members have been able to display their individual creativity in art, photo and poetry exhibits, and have been joined by staff and volunteers in presenting plays, musicals and cabaret programs for the Fountain House community and guests. In addition, the steps of Fountain House are a familiar meeting place, where members frequently convene before heading to activities and attractions throughout the New York metropolitan area such as the circus, baseball and basketball games, and movie nights.
Through shared interests and enjoyment at Fountain House, members, staff and volunteers come together, continuing the concept that, over a half-century ago, gave Fountain House's founding group its name: "We Are Not Alone."
