Congratulations Alice!

On December 5th the Midtown North Police Council held its annual Cop of the Month Gala.  At this event the Police Council honors the Police Officers and one member of the community is given the Richard Kussmaul Community Appreciation Award.  The Kussaul award is given to a community member that has shown exemplary community service.   This year our very own Alice B. Chernick was given this honor.  For over thirty years, Alice has been a very active member within the community.  She attends numerous meetings such as the Block Association meeting, Police Precinct counsel, Roosevelt Board meeting, and many other meetings.  She has worked with the community during Halloween, National Night Out, and various street fairs.

Alice has also said that she learned all about community relations here at Fountain House.  She worked with former staff worker Mary Smith and fellow community advocate Walter Dunn.  Since learning these skills, Alice has never been hesitant to tell community members about Fountain House.   She would always encourage them to come to the clubhouse for a tour and encourage them to get to know our Community.  We would like to take this time to congratulate Alice Chernick on receiving this wonderful honor.
